- Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi have combined forces for a 2010 outing, touring together as one musical group. The guitar-slinging couple - married since 2001 - have recorded on each other’s albums and toured together on occasion, but this new musical adventure reveals the two side by side leading one amazing ensemble. Fans can expect a mixture of material from both artists’ repertoire along with a batch of songs worked up especially for this tour, steeped in blues, roadhouse rock and American roots.
- Derek Trucks has forged a name for himself over the years as an innovative guitar virtuoso, taking a progressive approach to roots music, blending rock, blues, jazz, and world music into a sound defined by his eponymous project The Derek Trucks Band. Trucks was the youngest musician to make Rolling Stone’s “Top 100 Guitarists of All Time” and featured on the cover of their 2007 “New Guitar Gods” issue. The Patriot Ledger compared Trucks in concert to “a real life Guitar Hero” and USA Today said “Trucks just might be this generation’s greatest rock guitarist, a player of distinct tastefulness and ravenous music appetite.” In 2006 Trucks joined guitar legend Eric Clapton's world tour as a featured soloist in his band, a tour extending into the Spring of 2007 and supported by rave critical reviews. Derek’s 6th studio album, Already Free, was released in 2009, debuted at number 19 on the US Billboard Top 200 Chart. On the road over 300 days per year, Trucks has divided his time between The Derek Trucks Band and The Allman Brothers Band, and now looks to continue his path on the never-ending road with Susan and this exciting new project.
- Susan Tedeschi's knack for musical truth telling has been apparent in the years since she first captured the public's musical imagination. Her recent release Back to the River–produced by George Drakoulias, whose resume includes work with The Black Crowes, The Jayhawks, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers–is a mature, soulful work that demonstrates how much singer / guitarist / songwriter Tedeschi has grown in the decade since she burst onto the scene. Tedeschi’s breakthrough album Just Won’t Burn achieved Gold sales status and earned her a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2000, followed by her 2003 Best Female Rock Vocal Performance Grammy nomination for Wait For Me, and her 2006 Best Contemporary Blues Album Grammy nomination for Hope and Desire. She is quickly taking her place as the new generation’s greatest female blues guitarist/singer.
