Freeman found his inspiration in a Cardiff dumpster at the age of ten when
he spotted a guitar being discarded. He took the beat up instrument home and
put it to good use, teaching himself to play by strumming along to Dylan,
The Beatles and Springsteen.
As a teenager, Freeman left school to pursue his passion and landed a job as
an assistant engineer at the Great Linford Manor Studio. While there he
assisted great indie bands like Paul Weller, Julian Cope, Northern Uproar
and Skunk Anansie in making their signature records.
It wasn't long before Freeman was recognized for his talents with the
guitar. As opposed to engineering, he began spending his time in studio as a
musician. Most notably he has recorded with Shania Twain, James Blunt, The
Calling, and Mark Owen.
Meanwhile, Freeman started songwriting and formed his own band BOEDEKKA, who
signed to Boy George's label, More Protein, and released two albums and an
EP.
After penning eight of the ten tracks on Mark Owen's album HOW THE MIGHTY
FALL, Freeman signed a publishing deal and moved to Los Angeles. The LA club
circuit quickly led to the record executive office circuit.
Performing "You and I" on Clive Davis's board room table secured Freeman's
place at Arista. He's currently recording his debut album with producer
Howard Benson (Daughtry, My Chemical Romance, All American Rejects) for a
spring 2008 release.
